What does Corporate Law Cover?

A company is a concept that arises from the agreement between two or more individuals to combine their assets or labor for a common purpose under a single roof. Company law is a broad field that encompasses many regulations, the foremost being Securities Law. Securities can be certificates, bonds, and checks. All commercial activities are aimed at making a profit. To make profits more easily, quickly, and simply, securities are preferred. The regulation, circulation, and use of these documents that simplify the faster and simpler operation of commercial life are all dealt with in company law. In Turkish law, all types of companies are determined by law. All commercial companies regulated by this law are listed in the second book of the Turkish Commercial Law. If a company does not comply with the specific company types, it will be subject to the Turkish Civil Code. According to the Commercial Code, companies are divided into five types:

i) Joint Stock Companies,

ii) Limited Companies,

iii) Commandite Companies,

iv) Collective Companies, and

v) Cooperative Companies.

All companies under the Turkish Commercial Code have a legal entity.

A commercial partnership is a type of company formed by real individuals to operate under a commercial title, where none of the partners are limited in their liability and obligations towards creditors, and the company has its own legal personality.
