The branch of law that regulates relationships between employees and employers within the framework of the law is known as labor and social security law. It covers working conditions, worker salaries, employee-employer relationships, worker unions, and all communities they belong to.<\/p>

What is Labor Law?<\/h4>

Labor law is a branch of law that regulates relationships between employees, employers, and the state. Matters arising from work performed in dependence on someone else or someone else’s establishment are included in the scope of labor law. However, dependence is not a sufficient criterion in determining the scope of labor law. The second factor is the employment contract. There must be an employment contract between the employees and the employers who employ them in order to speak of the field of application of labor law. The third factor is the state. The state has become a component of labor law by introducing various regulations that provide minimum norms in favor of employees to protect employees in a personal and economic sense who are in a dependent and vulnerable position in the context of employment relations throughout historical times.<\/p>

Labor law is a field of law that arose with the industrial revolution. Technical advances from the second half of the 18th century caused industrialization in England and then in other European countries. In the aftermath of the industrial revolution, employment conditions were unilaterally determined by employers without any intervention from the state, resulting in serious work conditions, minimum wages, long working hours, and other problems. In response to public outcry, both England and other countries have abandoned their passive role and have enacted various laws that will be applied in favor of employees. As a result of this developing process, a modern employment law and labor law have emerged.<\/p>

What is Social Security Law?<\/h4>

Social security law is a legal field composed of various rules that go beyond private law rules, aiming to encourage social welfare, prevent risks that may arise from people and prevent the increase of expenses while increasing the income of society. When looking at the birth and development of social security law in its historical process, it can be seen that it emerged due to social and social problems that arose after the industrial revolution. In our country, it is not possible to talk about a modern social security system during the Ottoman Empire. At that time, various social security practices were provided through funds established by guilds in addition to intra-family solidarity. After 1945, different insurance branches emerged. In our country, the Social Security Institution Law, which came into force in 2006 as a result of reforms in the social security field, stands out.<\/p>

Labor and social security law is important for both employers and employees. It is divided into two categories: labor law and individual labor law.
